I am not a scientist. But it’s obvious to me that bio-security and the containment of disease are of paramount importance right now. Hunting has always risked spreading disease; we have known that for a long time. Hounds, horses, wild animals racing over multiple farms without any precautions at all can only lead to disaster. Covid-19 has suspended it for now. But if hunting starts again, we are allowing unnecessary and dangerous risks to everyone. Hunts put us all in peril for no reason other than their own pleasure. It  is a recreation – they freely admit that when they call it a “sport”. It is unnecessary.
