Trail Hunting - Debate in Parliament 01/04/25
For the first time in Parliament, an MP has been free to stand up and tell the truth about ‘Trail Hunting’ without a barrage of denial and opposition from pro-hunting MPs. Most of those lost their seats in the last election, of course.
Perran Moon, MP, who secured the debate, is calling for:
- A ban on trail hunting
- Custodial sentences for hunters
- Removal of exemptions from the Hunting Act
- Extension of time limits for charges under the Act
Defra’s response was yes, the Government plans to ban trail hunting and a Consultation will be out this year.
Mr Moon’s speech was terrific. All the contributions from the other MPs were excellent. We are very happy with this indeed. A long way to go, of course. But this is the Beginning of the End.
