Drones have changed the game for hunting on someone else’s land.
We could update this list almost every week. Drones, capturing footage from above, have made a huge difference to the evidence available when illegal hunting takes place.
Landowners need to be aware: allowing illegal hunting to take place on their land could ultimately lead to prosecution. The days when what happens out of sight stays out of sight are over.

Lincs Police use own drones

A week later, on 14/02/26, drone footage from Wiltshire Hunt Saboteurs shows the Beaufort Hunt chasing foxes and at least 5 hares, with no hunt staff or quads anywhere in sight.
The Blackmore and Sparkford Vale Hunt killed a fox on 03/02/26. North Dorset Hunt Saboteurs caught on drone convicted huntsman George Pierce looking skyward looking to see was this filmed, whilst whip Ben Summersgill gathered the remains of the fox’s body in his jacket. Hiding in the hedge, he stuffed the body in a bag, and handed it to terriermen,and emerged covered in blood. NDHS suspect this fox was bagged.
On December 8th 2025, Axbridge Town Council voted to allow the Vale of Taunton and Banwell Harriers Hunt to hold its Boxing Day meet in the town. This decision was made just days after drone footage exposed the hunt actively chasing a fox.
The Lake District Hunt Saboteurs have captured drone footage of a dig-out by the Coniston Foxhounds on 08/11/25. The fox was pulled from the terrier, thrown alive to the hounds, and ripped apart.
The video was released on Wednesday 12th November soon after 8.00am. By the next evening, Cumbria Police had issued a statement that six men were in custody relating to ‘alleged illegal fox hunting’. Three vehicles had also been seized, and one of the arrested men, it said, faced a firearms offence. A seventh man was also later arrested: all seven “…on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal”. They were released on bail.
North Dorset Hunt Sabs report that the Cattistock Hunt killed a fox on Tuesday 26/08/25. The Hunt was filmed by a drone, unaware of its presence due to their own noise. The incident is now recorded on camera and Dorset Police are involved.
DRONES – The Independent newspaper covered the attack on a sab drone by a hunt-controlled drone which had a weighted wire attached to it in order to ensnare the sab drone. Both drones crashed. Crashing drones are not under control and could have hit anything from a passing car to a mounted horseman. 11 April 2025
