Checklist for collecting evidence at a Boxing Day or New Year's Day Meet
Collecting evidence at this year’s Boxing Day or New Year’s Day event is CRUCIAL. If you want to have any chance of kicking them out of town next year, you need to show up with a camera and start filming. This is what to look for. As much as you can: it will all count!
Roads (relating to: horses, riders, dogs, quad bikes, hunt vehicles, supporters)
Obstructing free flow of traffic
Using one way roads against designated direction
Horses on pedestrian zones
Horses on pavement
Blocking parking bays
Especially blocking disabled parking bays
Anyone hunt-related stopping or guiding traffic – even if in hi-vis
Parking in bus stop areas (if buses run on the day)
Look for members of the public wandering into roads on the supposition that the road has been
closed
Quad bikes
No number plates
Obscured number plates
Dirty wheels
Multiple people on one quad
Using mobile phone on quad
Alcohol
Drinking on horseback
Drinking on quad bikes
Drinking outside of licensed premises
Drinking in alcohol free areas
Horses
Any flighty horses
Any horses with red ribbon in their tails (red ribbons signify ‘kickers’)
Children standing behind horses
Defaecation
Using mobile phone while riding
Young riders (children) – especially if no-one is leading them
Dogs
Poorly controlled – they will be loose – dogs: how free running
Dogs running on the opposite side of the carriageway, against direction of traffic
Dogs amongst traffic
General condition
Any patting – especially children
Licking – especially children
Defaecation
Anti-social behaviour
Any threatening or abusive language
Any threatening or abusive body language
Any intimidating behaviour
Collection of money – including are buckets marked/ are buckets open
