Our Responses to the Consultation

As responding to the Government’s Consultation to ban trail hunting wasn’t easy, we are not really surprised that most of the responses from those people who support hunting were identical. It was much easier to click and send from the Countryside Alliance’s uneditable response, than come up with your own answers.

But most of us – people who do want trail hunting banned because it really is fox hunting – did bother to write our own. 

Below, we offer three completed responses for you to take a look at. All of these took the responder some hours to do, and all of them required quite a bit of research and care.

The CA are boasting about how many responses they received – and coming up with some fabricated figures to say how many were received from the other side of the fence. In fact, we don’t know how many of us responded, because they weren’t click and send. They were thorough thoughtful and detailed responses. 

Detailed, evidence-based responses carry far more weight than thousands of identical, template-generated submissions. In the end, it is not the volume of responses that matters most, but the strength, sincerity and substance behind them.
